§ Invited to the White House by President Bill Clinton for "A Call to Action" for Faith Groups of America [2000]
- December 2001 - Addressed Conference of World Islamic Leaders in Jakarta, Indonesia
- September 20, 2002 - Invited to United Nations [New York] - Conference and Presented a Paper on Necessity for an "Interreligious Council for the Prevention and Resolution of Global Crisis".
- December 20, 2003 - Speaker at Jerusalem Peace Symposium in Jerusalem. Toured The City of Ramallah, The much revered Masjid Al Aqsa and (The Dome of The Rock)
- On March 23, 2004, Imam Aquil was invited to Washington D.C., where The United States Congress awarded him a Congressional Congratulatory Letter for Outstanding Community Service.
- In 2005, Imam Aquil received The International Ambassador for Peace Award in Seoul Korea
- November 20-29 2006, Imam Aquil was guest speaker of the Universal Peace Federations Peace Tour IV in Kaula Lumpur Malaysia
- May 10, 2009 – Imam Tariq A. Aquil, Keynote speaker at Southern California Interfaith Tribute to Mothers – Drawn from Bible and Qur’an - Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Seaside, Ca.
- In 2009 Imam Aquil was invited by the Director of the California Department of Corrections’ and Rehabilitation to assist with developing a statewide Halal Religious meat diet. The resulting Halal Manual for Correctional Facilities now serves over 12,000 participants daily.
- April 2013, Imam Aquil was selected Employee of the Year for the County of Monterey California.
- On January 25, 2014 at the Annual Pre-Grammy Awards held at the Marriott LA Live Imam Aquil was recognized for outstanding contributions to the Interfaith Community in excess of twenty years.
- On September 17, 2015, Jeff Beard, Secretary of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, presented Imam Tariq Ansaar Aquil with the Distinguished Service Medal at the Annual Medal of Valor Awards. The Distinguished Service Medal is awarded for an employee’s exemplary work conduct with the Department for a period of months or years, or involvement in a specific assignment of unusual benefit to the Department.
SPECIAL SERVICE INFORMATION
In 2001, Mr. Aquil served as Special Business Assistant - to the Late Imam W. Deen Mohammed, leader of over 2 ½ million members in the largest organized body of Muslims in the United States. Mr. Aquil was Responsible for Overseeing National and International operations of Collective Purchasing Conference / ComTrust LLC and the Mosque Cares. While on assignment in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Aquil wrote a column on the Halal Food Industry for the internationally circulated Muslim Journal Newspaper.
